Life allows any player to join free-to-play as long as they can provide a male and female willing to copulate and conceive him or her. The player is then given an avatar which is assigned a gender and race according to a random seed generator. Each player can have only one avatar in Life, and there is no known method of restoring a player's avatar if it is killed in-game (although numerous people have claimed to find cheat codes that remedy this problem).
